offers an astonishing array of Native American Jewelry and Art. Family-owned and
operated, the Pelican works directly with their native American friends to bring you the
finest collectible art and jewelry at everyday low prices. We feature sterling silver and gold jewelry handcrafted by artisans of the Navajo, Zuni, Hopi and Santo Domingo, as well as representatives of various other tribes throughout the United States. In addition to offering a varied assortment of one of a kind, award-winning pieces, The Pelican is proud to provide quality native American jewelry to satisfy every pocketbook. While native American jewelry typically features turquoise and coral, we also carry a wide variety of pieces which utilize sugilite, lapis lazuli, charoite, malachite, onyx, gaspyite, denim lapis, mother of pearl as well as "lab" or man-made opal. In addition to our vast collection of jewelry, store owners George, Diana and Chad Poulos have traveled extensively collecting the latest work being done by the native peoples. Stone sculpture, copper work, and "replifacts" of ceremonial and hunting artifacts are some of the items you will find when you visit us in the Harbor. We carry hand-made storytellers by many of the better-known potters. Our Zuni fetishes are carved by some of the finest artisans around including members of the Cheama, Quam and Quandelacy families to name a few. Limited edition knives by Cherokee artist Ted Miller are also available. Complementing the native American pieces, we offer our nearly life-size sculptures of wolves and mountain lions by southern California artists Curt Boardman and Doris Ziem. Crafted of hydra-stone and hand-painted by the artists, these limited edition sculptures are so realistic you expect them to bark or growl. And, should the need arise, we offer in-store jewelry repair on many items.
